HotS Hero Concept: Diablo 2 Paladin

I would love nothing more than for Diablo 2 characters to make their way into Heroes of the Storm. Just for fun, I’ve been experimenting with a hero concept for the Diablo 2 Paladin, specifically that of a Vindicator variety (Smiter).

It’s probably more fun to view the image for the full flavor, but I’ll post my original text transcript below in case you’re interested in that.

Diablo 2 Paladin — Focus on Smiter / FoH (Vindicator / Templar)

Bruiser // Tank with minor support elements

Attack Speed – 1.11 (same as Muradin, Chen)
Attack Range – 1.0 (same as Muradin)
Attack Damage – 213 (same as Muradin)
Health Points – 5,203 (same as Tyrael)
Health Regen – 10.65 (same as Sonya)
Mana – 690 (same as Tyrael)
Mana Regen – 4.86

** Abilities **

Smite – 35 Mana
— attack an enemy with your shield dealing 95 damage, stunning for 0.5 seconds, and knocking them back
— 2 charges, 8s cooldown.

Holy Shield – 75 mana
— activate to grant 6 block charges and increase the damage of Smite by 50% for 4 seconds
— 20s cooldown

Charge – 50 mana
— quickly charge the targetted enemy, dealing 125 damage and knocking them back
— 12s cooldown

** Trait ** (press D to swap between the 3 auras) – 0.25s delay until aura activates after swapping

Fanatacism Aura (trait)
— When active, increase the attack speed, basic attack damage, and ability damage of you and nearby allies by 6%.

Defiance Aura (trait)
— When active, reduces damage taken by you and nearby allies by 10%.

Meditation Aura (trait)
— When active, increases the health and mana regeneration of you and nearby party members by 25%.

Level 1
— Redemption: collecting Health Globes increases the health/mana regeneration of Meditation Aura by 0.45%.
— Vigor [Charge Talent]: Increase Charge’s range, speed, and knockback by 25%.
— Crushing Blows [Smite Talent]: Smite deals an additional 175 damage to Minions and Mercenaries and stuns them for 3 seconds.
— Seasoned Marksman

Level 4
— Amplified Healing
— Aegis of Eternity [Holy Shield Talent]: Attacks on Holy Shield reduce its cooldown by 2s.
— Concentration [Smite Talent]: Basic Attacks reduce the cooldown of Smite by 1 second.
— Focused Attacks

Level 7
— Grief [Smite Talent]: After Smite’s stun fades, the target is slowed by 30% for 2 seconds.
— Bulwark of Light [Holy Shield Talent]: For each attack you block while Holy Shield is active, heal the lowest nearby allied Hero for 95.
— Follow Through
— Heaven’s Swiftness [Charge Talent]: After Charge hits an enemy, gain 30% bonus movement speed for 2 seconds.

** Level 10 **

** Zeal – 55 mana
— Activate to make your next 3 basic attacks strike immediately.
— 15s cooldown

** Fist of the Heavens – 90 mana
— Call down a beam of holy energy upon an enemy Hero, dealing 200 damage and causing holy bolts to radiate outward from them. Holy bolts deal 75 damage to enemies and heal allies for 150 health.
— 15s cooldown, ~3/4 screen range

Level 13
— Holy Freeze [passive]: Deal 12 damage per second to nearby enemies and slow their move speed by 3% per second, stacking up to 15%.
— Unyielding [Charge Talent]: Charge can be used again for 2 seconds after it hits an enemy.
— Herald of Zakarum [Holy Shield Talent]: Holy Shield also reduces Ability Damage taken by 50% for its duration.

Level 16
— Vindicator [Smite Talent]: Increase Smite’s charges to 3 and its damage by 50%.
— Call to Arms [Fanatacism Aura Talent]: Increases Fanatacism Aura’s effect to 12%.
— Exile [Holy Shield Talent]: When you activate Holy Shield, gain a Shield that absorbs 275 damage for 4 seconds.
— Imposing Presence
Level 20
— Templar [Fist of the Heavens]: Reduce the cooldown of Fist of the Heavens by 6s and increase its damage and healing by 30%.
— Overzealous [Zeal]: Zeal now makes the next 5 basic attacks strike immediately.
